You may have uttered the phrase “must be the full moon”. Whether it is because situations surrounding you feel completely wacky or things just feel a little “off”, it’s hard not to notice a shift.
This is no coincidence. The full moon is full of energy. This thing literally affects the tides in our oceans, so it’s bound to affect us. The time surrounding a full moon is not always frantic and negative. It is commonly thought that full moon time is restorative and is a good time to set intentions for yourself.
This can also be a good time to set intentions in your stones! Crystals are full of energy that comes from our earth, and when you pick one up, there is an exchange of energy that occurs. This also means that they can get filled up with too much.
Wondering how to best use the rare and powerful energy during this time? Grab your favorite gemstones, especially any that you will be using in jewelry, and let’s recharge!
Charge ’em Up
Cleansing your crystals, or “charging” them as it is also referred, is a way to restore the energy surrounding them. That is why the full moon is often the best time to do this, as there is already a feeling of restoration in the air. This is a super simple process that will go a long way in creating a more meaningful atmosphere surrounding your stones.
First thing you’ll want to do is simply wash your crystals with water. Right under the faucet will do, but if you live near a body of water, that works too.
Next, you’ll want to set your stones outside overnight. If this is not possible, putting them out on a windowsill will do just fine. Pay attention to where the moonlight has been shining and place your stones where they will absorb the most light. Once you wake up, take your crystals inside.
To get the most out of this little ritual, you can pick up your stones and fill them with your intentions. Whether this be out loud, through visualization, a meditation is up to you. If you are using your stone in a piece of jewelry to give to someone else, you can think of them as you set an intention.
Lucky for you, March has two full moons! One on the 1st and one on the 31st. Think about what you want for yourself in between these moons, pick out the perfect stone, and get creative.
